Daredevil‘s transition from Netflix to Disney+ is now complete, and based on the official trailer, it seems to have happened seamlessly.

Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil continues to impress; it’s hard to argue that he hasn’t nailed the role better than anyone else who has donned the mask. This is a historic moment, as it’s the first time a series initially created for one streaming service is continuing on another without being remade or rehashed. When the series wrapped up on Netflix in 2018, many fans assumed it was the last we’d see of this beloved Marvel Comics superhero.

However, it seems Disney+ is genuinely committed to giving “Daredevil: Born Again” the respect and quality it deserves. What’s exciting is that among the Marvel series created for exclusive streaming, Daredevil has always stayed true to the essence of the comics, which resonates deeply with long-time fans. It caters to a more mature audience, especially older comic readers and collectors, with its various themes, violence, and darkness throughout its three seasons on Netflix.

“Daredevil: Born Again” follows the same celebrated threads, traits, and qualities, but with a more refined cinematic aesthetic and, without a doubt, a much bigger budget. Fans have waited and pushed for Daredevil to return, and the producers, showrunners, and, most of all, the actors heard their wishes. Here it is, after several years: Daredevil is back.

In Marvel Comics, “The Man Without Fear” is unique among superheroes, defined by his distinctive costume and his iconic billy club, which has been showcased in the trailer along with impressive dialogue, cinematic visuals, and bone-crunching fight scenes. I genuinely believe this new Daredevil series has every potential to match or even exceed the original Netflix run in quality.

For those who might not know, Daredevil is one of Marvel’s most grounded, intimidating, and realistic superheroes. Although he’s blind, his other senses are heightened to extraordinary levels, making him a formidable mixed martial artist capable of adapting to any combat scenario. He typically operates within the street-level superhero realm, delivering justice to those who can’t fight back and supporting the oppressed. Daredevil often prefers to work solo, but when he does team up, it’s for meaningful reasons. Especially when it is with another super-hero cut from the same cloth as The Punisher, who is making a return as well. The Punisher is portrayed by Jon Bernthal, and Daredevil and The Punisher have either been on the same side of the law or have faced off, either way, when they are on the same page, criminals, villains, and evil-doers beware.

Another record session Friday on Wall Street crowned a sixth weekly gain in a row, but failed to carry over into Monday and inspire a similar rally elsewhere.

The upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” is again deeply influenced by the Frank Miller era of Daredevil comics from the early ’80s, shaping its overall presentation. Most of the original cast is returning, which is another great sign. Daredevil will face new adversaries this time around, moving beyond just The Kingpin. This gives way to more storylines and directions that the series can go that have been unexplored when it was being shown on Netflix. Frankly, I am pleasantly surprised that the violence has not been toned down despite it being on Disney+. But who are we kidding here? Simply because it has the Disney company name attached to it does not mean it has to be wholesome, kiddy, and pleasing to everybody. It caters to a specific audience, and their voices have to be heard loud and clear for this to happen because this feels as authentic as it can be.

Indeed, without question, this continued, favored, and renewed direction could bring in more viewers—both those who have been loyal since the beginning and newcomers, especially those who felt let down by the portrayal in “She-Hulk.” It seems like everything is being righted here, and there’s no doubt that “Daredevil: Born Again” will be essential viewing on the Disney+ streaming platform.

2025 is turning out to be an exciting time for Marvel, this time it is definitive with the Marvel Television slogan marking perhaps a new start for Marvel Studios when it comes to television and streaming and with its initial launch in “Daredevil: Born Again”. This is how you honor dedicated fans while also winning over new ones—by delivering the true “Daredevil treatment.” So, keep an eye out for “Daredevil: Born Again”
